Pastor's Message - 4/5/2020

Welcome to New Day – we are so excited that you tuned in to share with us in this time in His word. We bless you today and speak life into this season that you're experiencing. We encourage you to have hope in God in the middle of your situation. God has not forsaken you; He is a very present help in the times of trouble.

Today's sermon is about Hope for the Better

Hope in general means a desire for things to change for the better, and to want
that better situation very much. When we look at the word hope, Biblical hope is:
The confident expectation of what God has promised and its strength is in His faithfulness.

For the believer, God gives us a desire for things to change for the better.
Psalm 62:2 “He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense;“
Psalm 130:7 “O Israel, hope in the Lord; For with the Lord there is mercy, And with Him is abundant redemption.”
Micah 7:7 “Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation;
My God will hear me.“
Psalm 46:1 “God is our refuge and strength and ever-present help in trouble.”

When I thought of you in my prayers this week, I ask God to give you hope. “A confident expectation of what God has promised” ...and to have a hope in the faithfulness of God to give us the strength to get out of a desperate situation or hope for an important project to be successful.

To have hope is to want an outcome that makes your life better in some way. It not only can help our tough present situation more bearable but also can eventually improve our lives because envisioning a better future motivates you to take the steps to make it happen.

The people that waved palm leaves and laid their clothes down as Jesus triumphantly made his royal ride down the Jerusalem Streets had hope that God’s promises would
finally come to pass. It was not through some magic remedy or a political system, but it would be by the Blood of Jesus on Calvary.

1 Corinthians 13:13 And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love; but the greatest of these is love. Faith is the key to pleasing God, Hope is given to us so we can still see the light in the midst of darkness and Love is what glues it all together. I have been talking about hope today and I know during this season in our lives we need hope, but 1 Corinthians 15:19 tells us there is a deeper Hope than just hope in this life - listen to what Paul says “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiful. but 1 Corinthians 15:19 tells us there is a deeper Hope than just hope in this life - listen to what Paul says “If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiful.

Psalm 43:5
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Psalm 119:114
You are my hiding place and my shield; I hope in your word.
Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

1 Peter 1:13
Therefore, preparing your minds for action, and being sober-minded, set your hope fully on the grace that will be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

“Hope is that match in your dark tunnel, Hope is a moment of light, just enough to
reveal the path ahead and ultimately the way out.” Jesus is the answer to your needs being met and a hope for better to be manifested in your life. I speak to those who have lost your hope during this season in your life. Return to the promises of a God that is faithful to give you a hope and a future.

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Father, May we hear your voice over all the other voices speaking, say to us - I am your hope. Fill us with hope and give us an everyday reminder that hope is an unbreakable spiritual lifeline. Please forgive us of our many sins help us to repent of our sinful
ways and turn to the way, the truth, and the life. As you have in days past, show us Lord your power and your glory. May your Spirit fill our spirit. Show us that with patience and trust hope will spring forth. Free us from the lies of the enemy, by your mighty hand we are at peace. Be our hope unbreakable as is your faithfulness, In Jesus' name I pray.
Amen

Praise The Lord, Until next time May the Lord bless you and protect you. May the Lord smile on you and be gracious to you. May the Lord show you His favor and
give you His peace.

I am highly favored of
the Lord, and My God
only does great things for
me.
